Marriage as Mission

If you are a couple who has been married for 10 years or more and would like to share ideas and hear about ministries designed to support engaged and married couples, we would love you to join us for an Archdiocesan “Marriage as Mission” Afternoon Tea: 2-4pm, Sat 2nd June, Haydon Hall, St Christopher’s Manuka. Register your interest below or contact lara.kirk@cg.org.au 0429 192 869 for more information.

The is no charge for the event but a donation of $10 per couple on the day would be appreciated.

The idea is to gather ordinary, church going, couples who have been married for 10 years or more for an afternoon tea where they can:

  • Learn about Pope Francis’ vision for the accompaniment of married couples
  • Contribute their ideas about how we as a Church can better support marriages
  • Hear about ways to get involved in ministries already supporting marriages in this Archdiocese
  • Network with and feel supported by other Catholic couples from across the Archdiocese

New forms of witness needed
to promote marriage

Pope Francis’ advice in Amoris Laetitia: “There is no sense in simply decrying present-day evils, as if this could change things…What we need is a more responsible and generous effort to present the reasons and motivations for choosing marriage and the family” (AL 35-36).
