The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD)

“Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD), volunteers minister to children who are attending schools other than Catholic. “The work of catechists, whether as Special Religious Education (SRE) teachers in schools or working in Parish Schools of Religion and Sacramental Programs, is an essential part of the mission of the Church in this part of the world.” (Archbishop Christopher Prowse).

In the words of the program coordinator Deacon Matt Ransom, being a Catechist is ‘epic.’ It is a chance to share your faith with interested young people. You will be trained, mentored and cared for by the team and Deacon Matt. It is a chance to be part of a larger team of 200 volunteers across the Canberra Goulburn Archdiocese.

If you like your faith in Jesus and would like to share it, then becoming a catechist might be for you. If you would like to know more or are unsure, come a watch a class in action.
