Parish Pastoral Support Services
The Archdiocese’s Parish Pastoral Support team plans, manages and delivers quality services, supports and resources to parishes, according to set priorities, timeframes and budgets. There are several key services that the Archdiocese offers:
Sacramental Program Support Services
The team assist parishes in the development, resourcing and implementation of policies and strategies that support parishes in delivering quality Sacramental preparation programs in a coordinated and collaborative manner. Assistance can be provided for the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage and Funerals. For resources, click here.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Through consultation and facilitation in the development, resourcing and implementation of RCIA-related policies and strategies, the Archdiocese helps to ensure that parishes are able to assist catechumens and candidates with an enriched personal spiritual journey.
Liturgical Ministry Formation
The Parish Pastoral Support team assists parishes by providing guidance, service and support for those in liturgical ministry through the development, resourcing and implementation of policies and strategies that foster good liturgical practice in the many aspects of parish life. Lay Ecclesial Formation
The team assists parishes through consultation, facilitation and resources in matters relating to formation, accreditation, ongoing support and pastoral enrichment opportunities for individual groups. This formation may include courses for lay leadership, faith and spirituality development, practical training for running groups and parish planning/assemblies.
Support of Major Parish Initiatives
Assistance can be provided to parishes who offer significant events for the good of the whole Archdiocese. For example, St Thomas More Forum.
