World Youth Day 2016
Since the first World Youth Day gathering in Rome almost 30 years ago, millions of young people have continued to share in a further 12 spectacular WYD events held in beautiful locations all over the world. World Youth Day, installed by Pope John Paul II in 1985, encourages young Catholics to come together to share their faith, culture and exuberance for life.
In 2016, Pope Francis will meet with thousands of young people in Krakow, Poland. The event is set to be exciting, adventurous and one you don’t want to miss. The Canberra Goulburn Archdiocese has its own group of young people attending, lead by Archbishop Christopher Prowse. The group will travel together and support each other through each stage of the pilgrimage. Click here for more information about the Canberra Goulburn trip to WYD 2016 in Krakow. The next step is to register your expression of interest, and begin the journey that will set your faith on fire.
