24 Hours for the Lord

Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour? (Mark 14:37)

Pope Francis has called for “24 Hours for the Lord” on Friday 4 to Saturday 5 March, as part of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. St Christopher’s Cathedral Canberra will be hosting a 24 hour period of adoration, with opportunity for reconciliation, beautifully Sung Vespers, Opening and Closing Mass and time with the Archbishop.

This time of silent prayer before the exposed Blessed Sacrament is a graced opportunity, and all are encouraged to come and spend some time with the Lord, in solidarity with the universal Church all over the world. An event commissioned by the Pope with prayers joining together is bound to be anointed, so use this as an opportunity to deepen your faith, prepare yourself for Easter and offer your intentions for the Church.

Archbishop Christopher Prowse will be present for many hours throughout the time, and will be offering reconciliation as well as saying the closing Mass on Saturday 5th.

7pm Vespers Sung by the Cathedral Choir

9am-12pm Confession available with the Archbishop
