Marian Procession 2017

LIGHT rain was no barrier for over 600 pilgrims who descended upon St Clement’s Retreat Centre Galong for this year’s Marian procession which again saw Archbishop Christopher Prowse dedicate the Archdiocese to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This year’s procession took on an extra youth dimension with Archbishop Prowse leading up to 30 young people on a small early morning pilgrimage from Galong village to the retreat centre – via the historic cemetery. Many of the people gathered for the Mass which was celebrated outdoors. It was followed by a congenial lunch and the communal Rosary. Every decade of the Rosary was said in a different language highlighting a strong multicultural presence, while a key moment of the day was the crowning of a statue of Our Lady of Fatima.

Photographer Loui Seselja was amongst the pilgrims throughout the day and managed to capture some of the key moments.
