Media Release | 1 November 2017
The Catholic Archbishop of Canberra and Goulburn, Archbishop Christopher Prowse, welcomed the news today from Andrew Barr MLA, ACT Chief Minister, regarding the government’s plan to expand and strengthen the Reportable Conduct Scheme to protect children.
“I am delighted that the ACT Government has opened consultation on how religious organisations will be included in the scheme by 1 July 2018,” Archbishop Prowse said.
The Catholic Church will study the Discussion Paper and participate in the consultation as appropriate.
