Project Compassion Launch on Shrove Tuesday

PROJECT COMPASSION in the Archdiocese was officially launched for 2018 at St Mary MacKillop College Canberra on Shrove Tuesday. Former NRL player and coach, Michael Maguire, was the star of the show, helping the faithful prepare ahead of the penitential season of Lent.

At the launch the Caritas Ambassador gave insights into his recent ‘life changing’ visit to Zimbabwe – the focus country for this year’s campaign.

Joining Mr Maguire in speaking at the launch was Archbishop Christopher Prowse, Sr Ivy Khoury and Lulu Mitshabu, the director for Caritas in the Archdiocese. Also in attendance were students and staff from St Mary MacKillop College, Daramalan College, John Paul II College and Goulburn’s Trinity High.

Mr Maguire is attending ‘Caritas Kitchen’ tonight, while his Ash Wednesday presentation will take place at Holy Spirit Parish Gungahlin.
