On Our Lips
5 March 2018
Psalm 41 is placed on our lips today:
Like the deer that yearns for running streams,
So my soul is yearning for you, my God.My soul is thirsting for God, the God of my life;
When can I enter and see the face of God?
We are living at a time of great wealth, perhaps unprecedented in human history. We are bombarded with advertising encouraging us to satisfy our “wants.” Artificial “needs” are manufactured regularly.
Who today dares to speak of desire? The Psalmist does. She places it on our lips – and in our hearts.
Amen.
