“Rejoice and Be Glad”

This is the name of the pope’s latest writing. It is about practical holiness.

Yes, the canonized saints are important. But the saints living “next door” are important, too. The pope writes:

Their lives may not always have been perfect, yet even amid their faults and failings they kept moving forward and proved pleasing to the Lord.

Note what is being said here: The journey is as important as the goal.

That’s it – don’t you think?

God desires us to be holy and he desires that we walk towards him, even as we might falter.

Amen.
