Seven Memories

Experts claim that human beings have seven memories. We have a narrative memory and emotional memory. That is, we can recall events and our emotional reactions.

In addition, we have touch, smell, sight, taste and hearing memory. Our memory is at its best when all seven memories work in harmony.

The Gospel is Luke 24: 35-48. All seven memories are present.

The disciples tell their story. They experience joy. They see Jesus. They touch Jesus. They hear Jesus. They smell Jesus. They surely ‘taste’ Jesus – symbolic of desire.

Our seven memories. Resurrected just like our very beings.

Amen.
