ARCHBISHOP Christopher Prowse welcomed the opportunity to speak out against euthanasia last week warning that supporting assisted suicide would be a fundamental mistake and a grave risk.

Appearing before the Legislative Assembly, which is currently debating the Bill in the ACT, the Archbishop described assisted dying as ill-considered and de-humanising.

Among the several aspects which he focused on in an earlier submission, he highlighted the pressure that the practice, if legalised, will place on vulnerable people.
