Name Your Price

Today, Jesus tasks you with an incredible job: to cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils. Quite the job description, so what do you think it’s worth? Name your price?

The price Jesus offers is far greater than any amount of gold or silver could compare. It is living a life inspired by the Holy Spirit: a life of love.

God loves you not for anything you’ve done, but for who you are. It is this reason that we can love, because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19) Since our love for one another comes from His love for us, surely there is no price on earth that could be worthy of such a calling?

This is what Jesus means when he says “You received without charge, give without charge.” To love, selflessly, knowing that God will always provide. You are called to be a counter-cultural Catholic; a beacon of love that changes our world. It is in living out this calling, that you can truly understand that you have been created out of love, for love.

Today, challenge yourself to not put a price on love, but to be love to all whom you encounter.

Amen.
