The Book of Revelation is mysterious. One theory of interpretation is that St. John had a mystical experience during the celebration of the Eucharist:
You were sacrificed and with your blood you bought men and women for God of every race, language, people, nation (Rev 5).
The Eucharist is our great act of praise and worship. Somehow, we are present at the death of Jesus – and his resurrection – whenever Mass is celebrated.
As a great act of love, the Eucharist has a profound spiritual momentum, calling us to die to ourselves and live to God and others.
