“At the name of Jesus, every knee should bend and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Phil 2).
Blessed John Newman (1801-1890) believed that the best way to prepare for eternal, resurrected life was through acts of worship – private and public.
Remarkably, he believed that living a good moral life would “not really cut it.”
We are called to a transformed, resurrected life, and so it is totally necessary to worship and praise the God who does the transforming.
Likewise, Paul encourages us to “bend our knees” and “confess with our tongues,” Christ the Lord.
