ACYF rego’s still open

GROUP bookings have closed, but individual Australian Catholic Youth Festival registrations are still open says Huw Warmenhoven.

“This year’s ACYF promises to be an incredible initiative for the Australian Church,” the Archdiocesan Youth Ministry Coordinator said.

“The Archdiocesan group currently has 161 young people going and we will be accompanied by Archbishop Christopher Prowse as well as a number of Clergy including Youth Chaplains Fathers Paul Nulley, Trenton van Reesch, Luke Verrell, Thomas Jin and Joshua Scott.

“I strongly encourage any other young people (between the ages of 18 and 30) who are wondering whether or not they should go to make sure they register and get along.”

Archdiocesan Youth Ministers and Deacons Namora Anderson and Adrian Chan will also join the Archdiocesan group at the festival.

This year’s line-up includes musician Matt Maher, Emily Wilson, Emma Fradd, Natasha Pinto, One Plate’s Therese Nichols as well as Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi, the founders of Orange Sky Laundry.

Mr Warmenhoven says due to the Panama World Youth Day being so close in February 2019, this will be the key national Catholic youth event for the next few years.

“All the more reason to get along this year,” he said.

“From my experience going to these events where you can gather with thousands of other young people living out their faith, is incredibly uplifting.”
