Deacon delivers prayer for peace at Remembrance Day ceremony
Chaplain of the ACT RSL, Deacon Mick O’Donnell delivered the prayer for peace at this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Australian War Memorial.
The Remembrance Day National Ceremony, including a formal wreath laying, was attended by high-level dignitaries, diplomats, and students from each state and territory.
Australia’s Federation Guard and the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, were on parade.
A Vietnam Veteran, Deacon O’Donnell represented the Royal Australian Navy Communications Branch in which he served for 20 years as a radio officer.
The RAN held its biennial national reunion in Canberra to coincide with Remembrance Day, marking the 98th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War.
