The joy of love in the family
Discussion was animated at the latest, well-attended Guinness and God event as a panel and those present discussed Pope Francis’ new Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetita. The Joy of Love: On Love in the Family.
The panel included Archbishop Christopher Prowse (pictured top), directors of the Marriage Resource Centre and members of the Australian Catholic Marriage and Family Council Byron and Francine Pirola (pictured above), and chair of Catholic Social Services Australia and a member of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council Dr Maria Harries. Pope Francis appointed Dr Harries as an independent auditor at the 14th General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops held at the Vatican. ABC journalist Genevieve Jacobs facilitated the discussion.
Guinness and God is held one Tuesday night a month, from 6.30pm to 9pm at King O’Malley’s Irish pub in City Walk, Canberra.
It is designed as an opportunity to meet other young Catholics from around Canberra, share a meal, and listen to a speaker break open a relevant topic in a comfortable environment.
The next Guinness and God event will be held on 7 June discussing “What is the Purpose of Catholic Education?”
