ANZAC and Peace 2017
ABOUT 700 primary school children attended the 28th annual ANZAC and Peace Ceremony sponsored by the RSL in historic Eddison Park, Woden.
RSL chaplain Deacon Mick O’Donnell presented a prayer of love and peace. He gave a blessing to those gathered including the Patron, NZ High Commissioner Chris Seed, Director General ACT Education Directorate Natalie Howson, and members of the Eddison family.
Three Eddison brothers were killed during World War 2. The family grew up on a farm which is now the Woden Town Centre.
The ACT Senior Concert band provided music at the gathering and Deacon O’Donnell took his restored 1945 military Jeep named Betty which is always a curiosity for children.
