ACT Reportable Conduct Scheme

In 2017, the ACT introduced a reportable conduct scheme to oversee how organisations prevent and respond to allegations of child abuse and misconduct.

From 2018 this scheme was expanded to include religious organisations; so all agencies in this Archdiocese and located in the ACT are now covered by the scheme.

What this means is that any allegation or conviction of child abuse or misconduct toward children (ie reportable conduct)  when investigated by the Archdiocesan agency, will also be  reported to and subject to the oversight of the ACT Ombudsman.

The reportable conduct scheme does not interfere with reporting obligations to ACT Policing or Child and Youth Protection Services. If an Archdiocesan employer suspects criminal conduct has occurred, they will report to police in the first instance.
